Eating at a world famous restaurant

Last Saturday after climbing all day in the Wichita Mountain Wildlife Refuge in the Lawton, OK area.  We headed over to Meers, OK where they have the one and only world famous Meers store and restaurant.  This looks like a tiny and dingy whole in the wall place and it is.  The thing is at around 3:00pm there is a line out the door that wraps around the building to get one of there burgers.

I don't know what they put in their burgers but after climbing all day and burning lots of sugars and sweating back to the oldies it tasted like heaven.  One thing we did over look is the fact they only take cash.  We learned that about one hour before heading out, so we pooled all our cash together and came up with enough money so that we could all get a burger.

This sign reminded me of my ol buddy Will.  He used to come to Meers and participate in "Tour de Meers Bike Ride."  They ride from Meers to Mt. Scott and back.  He told me that it was the scariest thing he has ever done.  It wears the brakes out so bad coming down that some people have to take drastic measures to stop.  Lots of rolling up the side of the mountain he tells me.  Now I can cross eating at Meers from my bucket list.  Whenever you get the chance to eat at a world famous place while traveling I say do it.  You never know if you will ever get the chance again.
